You asked for it and here it is… compositing! In this class we will first shoot our model with a 3 light setup and learn how to light with a composite in mind. Then Cary will use one of the images to teach you how to create an edgy composite from start to finish.

Each participant will have approximately 15 minutes to shoot Frank and Cary will instruct as each person shoots. Participants should be able to shoot in manual mode and have a DSLR. Lenses with a focal length between 24 – 75mm will work best for this shoot.

Once done shooting, we will move into the classroom and edit the image from start to finish. We will process the shot, cut it out, add a new background, and go through the finishing steps to bring it all together. The editing will be done in Photoshop CS5 so it is suggested that you have a basic understanding of Photoshop layers and masking to get the most out of the class. Be prepared to take notes so you can repeat the process on your own. You should leave this class with an understanding of how to achieve a solid composite!

The samples below show a recent shoot with our scheduled model Frank.
