Filming an Artist Spotlight (and putting you in it too!)

    Suzette Allen, Cr.Photog., CPP, API,

    Lumix Luminary and Adobe Influencer,

    Professional Photographer 25+ years,

With Jon Yoshinaga, Cr.Photog., Lumix Luminary

One thing we definitely need to do to survive is PURSUE TECHNOLOGY and EMBRACE THE NEW! We also need to MARKET OURSELVES CREATIVELY!!

Wow—that can be a tall order! But it is actually not that difficult with the new ease of shooting video and combining with stills to create a short hybrid product that engages and educates clients—not to mention setting you on a creative pedestal way above the competition!

That’s what this program is all about!  Video is the most powerful medium to engage and educate people, and it is time we leverage it for our own marketing and create new products! For those of us who are primarily still photographers, we are ideally positioned and skilled to jump into that role with very little effort. Yes, that is the truth. You already possess 90% of what you need to be an excellent hybrid photographer, able to produce a hybrid product with stills and videos. Now is the time to ease into that role, able to effectively communicate with either medium, depending on the clients’ need.

In this Hybrid Program, Suzette will show you how she uses motion (video vignettes) to create fresh products and then show you how to film an artist’s spotlight! The hands on demo will feature a local artist and show you how to film it, work with lighting, audio and microphones, and then how to edit to create a final short video combining images, music, and logos! The final hoorah is the delivery method…how about making it a LIVE PORTRAIT that plays off a PRINT? Yes, with augmented reality, that is possible and easy! This will be an exciting program you do NOT want to miss…just like you don’t want to miss the Sign on the road to your successful future! This could be it!

Suzette uses Lumix Mirrorless cameras and Lightroom and Photoshop CC to create and edit her videos… it is super easy! Together with her techie husband Jon, they will share some technical know-how & video specs too, applying to all cameras and software, so hang on for an enlightening and inspiring program!

From houses of worship to houses of blues, Ruthie Foster has always been a rafter-rattler. And with a soul-filled voice honed in Texas churches, she can move audiences to tears or ecstasy – sometimes in a single song. Her two albums, 2009’s The Truth According to Ruthie Fosterand 2012’s Let It Burn, moved the Recording Academy to deliver Best Blues Album Grammy nominations. Her latest release, Promise of a Brand New Day on Blue Corn Music, earned her a third Grammy nod in 2015. Ruthie performed at the Big Top twice before, blowing the roof off the tent with her amazingly soulful voice and blues artistry.

Room 2 Groove takes inspiration from Michael Franti, Citizen Cope, Bob Marley, and Peter Tosh to name a few. They proclaim their mission is to make the world, and specifically Northern Wisconsin, a more vibrant place to live by playing positive music that gets people up and dancing.

Sailors have the option of purchasing  food from the various vendors at the big top venue.
